About LandSteward
What is LandSteward?
LandSteward is a free tool that helps English farmers understand which Environmental Land Management (ELM) scheme actions their farm qualifies for and estimate how much they could earn from those schemes.
With Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) payments reducing every year, understanding your ELM options — particularly the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) — is increasingly important. LandSteward makes this simple: enter your land types and areas, and we'll show you eligible actions and estimated annual income.
Data sources and accuracy
Scheme data (action codes, payment rates, eligibility rules) is sourced from DEFRA's published SFI documentation and is provided under the Open Government Licence.
While we strive for accuracy, payment rates and eligibility rules can change. Always verify the latest details on GOV.UK before making any farming decisions.
Important disclaimer
LandSteward is not affiliated with DEFRA, the Rural Payments Agency (RPA), or any government body. This tool is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute official advice.
